Before You Start
Prepare the mailbox details firstImportant: Use the exact email address, password and mail server supplied by CIX Connect. Your phone may fail setup if one letter, number, symbol or full stop is missing.

Full Email Address
Example: name@yourdomain.co.za. Use the full email address as the username.

Use the password supplied by CIX Connect. Passwords are case-sensitive.

Usually mail.yourdomain.co.za. Replace yourdomain.co.za with your actual domain.

How to add your email on iPhone or iPad
Follow these steps inside the Apple Mail settings.
Open SettingsGo to Settings on your iPhone or iPad, then tap Mail.
Open AccountsTap Accounts, then tap Add Account.
Choose OtherSelect Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
Enter your account detailsEnter your name, full email address, mailbox password and description. Example description: Business Email.
Select IMAPChoose IMAP as the account type.
Enter incoming server detailsHost name: mail.yourdomain.co.za. Username: your full email address. Password: your email password.
Enter outgoing server detailsUse the same host name, full email address and password for the outgoing mail server.
SaveAfter the account verifies, keep Mail switched on and tap Save.

How to add your email on Android
Android brands differ, but the main setup flow is normally the same.
Open your mail appSelect the Mail, Email, or Gmail app on your Android phone.
Add accountEnter your full email address and password.
Select Manual SetupChoose Manual Setup, then select IMAP Account.
Enter incoming server settingsUse your full email address as username. Enter the incoming server supplied by CIX Connect.
Enter outgoing server settingsUse the outgoing SMTP server supplied by CIX Connect. Make sure require sign-in is enabled.
Choose account optionsSet sync frequency, notifications and download preferences as you prefer.
Name the accountEnter an account name and your display name for outgoing emails.
Tap DoneComplete setup and allow the device to sync your mailbox.

Quick fixes before requesting support
Issue
Password Not Accepted
Check capital letters, symbols and spacing. Retype the password slowly instead of copying it from another app.
Issue
Cannot Send Emails
Check outgoing server details and confirm that outgoing authentication or require sign-in is enabled.

Cannot Receive Emails
Check incoming server name and make sure the account type is IMAP.

Certificate Warning
Do not guess. Confirm the correct mail server with CIX Connect before accepting unknown certificate warnings.

Mailbox Not Syncing
Check internet access and sync settings. Restart the phone after saving the account.
